Welcome To… Little Bear Pre-Built Cabins! with over 30 years as Log Cabin Builders…

We are your Small Log Cabin Headquarters!

otter-lakeMany of us today need a place we can go to to get away from the grind…and just relax! We don’t want a huge Cabin that is too costly to build, and even more costly to heat and cool… we just want an affordable small log cabin, that is warm , cozy, and helps us unwind near our favorite fishing hole or mountain getaway. This is where Little Bear Cabins excel!

Over 60 years ago when the “Modern Log Cabin” was introduced to our housing industry & culture… many just wanted to explore a simpler lifestyle and build a small but comfortable Log Cabin in the mountains or in the woods far from the grind of everyday life.

The last 30 years or so has shown that Pre-Built Cabins or Small Log Cabin Kits have remained the most popular among those of us that value this experience the most. While there are certainly those that have built many grand over-sized Log Homes, the trend has once again began to go back to the simple, relaxed atmosphere of a small, affordable, and cozy log cabin. People are once again embracing the cost effective & energy efficient Small Log Cabin. With an open floor plan design of even 650 to 1000 Sq. Ft. … small pre-built cabins can seem very spacious, and are often used as a suitable full -time home.

otter-lakeMany Americans today are quickly learning to become more frugal, and much smarter when it comes to lifestyle choices. Many extended family members are living together more often, and most are finding that larger palatial homes are just too costly to heat and cool… not to mention the rising construction costs for a custom home.

As a Log Home Builder for many years… I have begun to see a serious and increasing market trend for those wanting to build a small, sometimes very small log cabin, and very happy with that decision.

Why are Small Log Homes becoming so popular these days?

The answer is actually quite simple…. Freedom! What does “freedom” mean as it relates to living in a small log cabin? Well… just that many are discovering they actually enjoy the open, vaulted, environment of a smaller home and they are not as confined as they were in a smaller stick-frame home. Small Log Homes offer the natural charm of rustic wood, resembling a mountain or lake lodge that they have spent some of most treasured moments in … and they can enjoy this setting for life!

The lower cost of building a Small Log Home, as well as the lower cost to heat and cool their cabin, makes a perfect way to downsize without giving up your dream of log home ownership.

Why size are typical Small Log Homes?

We specialize in Small Log Homes of 1000 sq. ft. or less… at very affordable pricing. We can offer you one of our pre-built cabins and deliver a small log home shell kit to you in most cases under 8 weeks … ready to start finishing in just a few days after delivery. Add a basement or a loft and increase your living space while keeping your foot print smaller. Many folks live in Small Log Homes of under 500 sq. ft. on the main floor.

This is FREEDOM!… Just build your foundation or basement ahead of time and we will deliver it and set it down on your permanent foundation.  Pick out one of our floor plans or send us your idea of a floor plan… and we will simply build you a cost effective log cabin shell, and after we re-set it on your foundation sub-floor, you can begin to finish it yourself, and save a ton of money! Our shell packages start at just 21.oo per sq. ft.

The Main advantages of a Little Bear Log Cabin… Is that it is pre-built at a pre-assembly facility location, and then we simply ship it to you ready to assemble on your foundation/subfloor.

Small Log Cabins are certainly more popular today than ever before!  With many of us becoming much more frugal with our lifestyle choices… it is not affordable to build a larger log Home or weekend Cabin.   Recent studies are showing that while the American dream is still alive and well in America… most Americans are becoming more realistic with financial planning and retirement lifestyle choices.  While the dream of a Custom Log Cabin is still within reach for most of us… it just needs to be downsized a bit.  As a Log Home Pro I have seen many trends in my career, and would encourage everyone to consider building a Small Log Cabin to enjoy with your Family and Friends.
